About Civil Aviation Safety Authority Australia
The Senior Network Administrator reports to the Chief Technology Officer and is part of the team
responsible for working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholder, including vendors, to
deliver Network solutions that align with CASA’s strategic requirements.
The role works in collaboration with the wider Information Technology Branch (ITB) to deliver and
support network services to CASA and our external customers. As the role supports critical
network operations, there is occasional out of hours work and a rostered on-call component, which
will support CASA’s day-to-day business needs.
In addition to the Network and Network Security focussed activities, this role is responsible for
supporting ICT facilities oversight such as Data Centres and physical cabling within CASA offices.
As such, this position plays a key role, in conjunction with the CASA Property team, during office
refit, uplift and relocation activities.
The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for the following deliverables:
Assisting with the support, troubleshooting and uplift of CASA Network services.
Contributing to the planning and execution of new projects/initiatives including transition into
operations.
Preparing submissions to the Change Advisory Board and other governance forums.
Organising and prioritising work in alignment with the Network Operations team workplan.
Monitor work queues to ensure incidents and requests are actioned in line with service level
agreements.
Ensuring documentation and standard operating procedures are maintained and updated.
Contributing to continual service improvement within the Network Operations team.
Supporting the ICT lead during planning and execution of office uplift and/or relocation
activities.
Promoting workplace safety, equity and diversity, participative management and
environmental management in the workplace, and acting in accordance with the CASA

Engaging and working supportively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees in a

Duties
- Our Ideal Candidate
- Demonstrated experience in the design, configuration and operation of ICT networking and
- communications equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in use of Network monitoring and control systems.
- Demonstrated experience in the design, configuration and operation of Network security
- systems (e.g. Firewalls and/or Web Access Firewalls).
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with a broad range of internal and external
- stakeholders.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills, particularly in discussing technical
- matters with non-technical people.
- Demonstrated delivery, support and service improvement experience in the following technical
- areas:
- HP and/or Cisco routing and switching
- Fortinet or similar firewall, networking and wireless devices
- Web Access Firewalls (WAFs)
- Citrix Netscalers or similar NLB devices
- Microsoft Azure Networking.
