Land Systems Division’s (LSD) mission is to acquire and support capability that enables the ADF
to generate and sustain deployable Land power for an integrated force, in peace and war. We aim

industry to deliver the latest equipment to maximise ADF performance.
Our logistics teams work with contracting, procurement and technical specialists, and project
stakeholders to deliver sustainable equipment prioritising speed, capability and user safety.

supportive environment to achieve the strategic delivery of critical Defence capabilities.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal Candidate is an experienced and dedicated logistics professional with demonstrated
leadership capability and the ability to guide, mentor and develop teams in a fast-paced, complex
environment.
They demonstrate adaptability, sound judgement and confidence when responding to shifting
priorities and emerging challenges. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
are essential, supported by emotional intelligence, professionalism and resilience.
They build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders,
exercising initiative and sound decision-making to resolve complex logistical issues while
managing competing priorities.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of end-to-end logistics practices, including
procurement, inventory management and distribution in the context of relevant legislation, policy
and procedures, and understand the logistical requirements to support the effective introduction,
operation and long-term sustainment of Defence capability.
They possess strong analytical skills and can interpret data, identify trends, and apply insights to
improve performance and outcomes, while supporting team development and fostering a culture of
continuous improvement.

Duties

  • The Role
  • Land Systems Division (LSD) within the Defence Delivery Group (DDG) is seeking Logistics
  • Managers to support the acquisition, introduction into service, and ongoing sustainment of critical
  • ADF equipment.
  • The APS 6 Logistics Manager will lead a small, multidisciplinary team, providing critical logistics
  • planning, management, governance and assurance for state-of-the-art ADF capability.
  • Working under broad direction, responsibilities may include:
  • Developing strategies and plans for logistics management, and implementing plans
  • Developing and advising on policies, procedures and processes for logistics management
  • Responding to stakeholder needs and expectations, and engaging with subject matter
  • experts to resolve complex issues
  • Partnering with contracted suppliers to manage priorities and provide comprehensive
  • integrated logistics support to Defence capability
  • Composing briefs and reports on project or product achievements against expected
  • performance
  • Building and sustaining effective relationships, actively participating in teamwork and
  • supporting team development.
