The team delivers application management and system support services that enable Work Health
and Safety (WHS) outcomes across Defence.
We work closely with stakeholders across WHS Branch and the broader organisation to ensure
systems are reliable, secure, and support business needs. This includes managing incidents,
supporting system enhancements, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that
strengthen WHS capability.

used for reporting, compliance, and assurance activities.

We are seeking a motivated professional with strong technical, analytical, and stakeholder
engagement skills. The role involves managing application services and supporting project

The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgement and initiative, with the ability to manage
competing priorities effectively. You will build and maintain strong working relationships with both
technical and non-technical stakeholders, and communicate clearly and effectively.
Desirable experience includes:
Experience in application or service management, or project coordination
Experience in contract management, financial tracking and invoice processing
Experience in managing system incidents, troubleshooting, and enhancements
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
The ability to work collaboratively and contribute to team outcomes

Duties

  • The Role
  • As an APS 6 Application Manager, you will coordinate application and project activities in line with
  • Defence frameworks and standards. Key duties include managing project inputs, tracking financial
  • commitments, supporting procurement and contract processes, and ensuring timely invoice
  • processing.
  • You will lead business verification testing across test and production environments to ensure
  • system changes meet business needs and support Work Health and Safety (WHS) outcomes. You
  • will manage work tickets end-to-end, investigating and resolving complex issues to maintain
  • system performance and reliability.
  • You will also provide technical support by managing enhancements, troubleshooting issues, and
  • communicating outages, maintenance, and patch schedules to stakeholders. Strong
  • communication skills are essential for engaging diverse audiences through clear written and verbal
  • updates.
