Narrative
The Administrative Review Tribunal contributes to the Australian legal landscape by offering independent reviews of decisions under Commonwealth laws. By proofreading draft decisions, you ensure decisions are accurate, well‑structured and easy to understand for applicants and stakeholders.

Duties (What You Will Do)
| Proofreading | Proofread draft decisions, check formatting, footnotes, style consistency, typographical accuracy, and chronology of events. |
| Stakeholder Engagement | Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders; provide guidance on basic queries. |
| Administrative Support | Navigate case files in management systems; contribute to team resources and respond to queries; escalate complex issues. |
About You (Eligibility)
- Strong written and verbal English; excellent attention to detail; capable of proofreading legal documents to a high standard.
- Basic understanding of the legislative, policy and governance framework within which the National Proofreading Team operates.
- Well‑developed interpersonal skills; able to work in a team and build stakeholder relationships; alignment with APS Values and Code of Conduct.
- Good organisational skills; ability to prioritise and meet deadlines; flexible and proactive in facing changing work demands.
- Desirable: Qualifications in proofreading, editing and publishing.
- Eligibility: Australian Citizenship; FP checks and health assessment may be required.
