About Department of Defence
The PME Directorate delivers the following functions:
Supporting provision of ministerial products for Defence Portfolio Ministers, including PDMS
workflows and quality assurance.
Provides expert advice on ministerial communication processes.
Producing high quality reports for Ministerial Offices and Senior Leadership to advise on
timeliness and quality of Ministerial products.
Supporting the Chief of Defence Force, Secretary, Vice Chief of the Defence Force and
Associate Secretary offices.
Provides training and support to the Department and ministerial offices in the use of PDMS
and preparation of ministerial documents.
Delivers Local and Business Administrator responsibilities in PDMS.
Responding to enquiries to the PDMS help desk.
Actively leads PDMS change requests and contributes to whole-of-government PDMS
Forums.
Works collaboratively with stakeholders across Defence to maintain effective workflows and
uphold the integrity of executive processes.
Ensures the delivery of high-quality briefs and executive communications that meet
organisational standards and support strategic decision-making.
Managing and processing PDMS items for Top 4 Offices.

Duties
- The Role
- Assistant Directors in the PDMS, Ministerial and Executive Engagement (PME) team are
- responsible for leading the coordination, quality assurance and delivery of high-quality executive
- and ministerial support services across Defence. This role provides support to the department, the
- portfolio Ministers and Defence senior leadership on ministerial and parliamentary products,
- executive communication and directions and intelligence dissemination. PME ensures executive
- correspondence, briefs and submissions meet the highest standards of accuracy, timeliness and
- integrity.
