Our Ideal Candidate
10+ years’ experience managing ICT projects in complex enterprise environments using
SDLC, Agile or hybrid methodologies.
Demonstrated capability delivering end-to-end solutions, from requirements through to
production transition and support.
Proven leadership experience, including managing and developing teams, setting
expectations and driving performance.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills across vendors, analysts, product managers,
architects, non-technical staff and engineers.
Experience developing and managing key project artefacts, including plans, requirements,
timelines and release documentation.
Ability to track progress and provide clear reporting to senior executives.
Experience managing project budgets, resourcing and financials.
Strong understanding of enterprise technology environments, including infrastructure, cyber,
identity and/or AI (desirable).
Experience working in highly regulated or government environments (desirable).
Sound knowledge of IT change and release management processes.
Duties
- The Role
- The Defence Digital Group is the capability manager for a broad range of enterprise ICT initiatives,
- delivering critical digital outcomes across complex and highly governed environments. We are
- seeking a highly experienced Senior ICT Project Manager with strong end-to-end technical and
- service delivery expertise. This role is responsible for leading the delivery of large-scale, complex
- ICT projects, ensuring seamless integration from initial requirements through to production release
- and operational transition.
- Key Responsibilities are:
- Lead the full project lifecycle, from requirements definition, planning, execution, and delivery
- through to release and transition into production.
- Ensure delivery outcomes align with organisational objectives and operational needs.
- Provide strong service delivery leadership, ensuring alignment between project outputs,
- operational readiness, and ongoing support models.
- Embed sustainable service frameworks that support long-term system performance and
- reliability.
- Take accountability for delivery across applications, infrastructure, data, integration, and
- platform services.
- Drive high-quality outcomes across multidisciplinary technical domains.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary delivery teams and senior stakeholders to achieve
- project objectives.
- Provide clear communication, governance, and reporting in complex environments.
- This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence
- Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base
- salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in
- occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. For further
