About the Opportunity

Join the Procurement Capability Branch where you’ll help lift procurement and contract management capability across the Australian Public Service. You’ll contribute to developing and delivering a comprehensive training suite that supports better engagement with government procurement and strengthens regional economic outcomes. As part of a supportive, high-performing department, you’ll work with subject matter experts and operational teams to deliver accessible, inclusive learning. The role is hybrid, with opportunities for in-person and online delivery, and a chance to influence APS-wide capability and standard-setter resources.

Duties (What You Will Do)

Key Responsibilities Specific Tasks
Deliver training products Provide procurement and contract management training across the APS; deliver sessions in-person and virtually; maintain quality and consistency with approved materials.
Facilitate engaging sessions Lead inclusive, accessible training; apply adult learning principles; adapt delivery to audience needs.
Maintain knowledge base Keep up-to-date with Commonwealth Procurement Rules, policies and related frameworks; refresh materials as required.
Support course development and administration Pilot and test courses; conduct quality assurance; manage scheduling, registrations, inquiries; prepare attendance reporting and analysis; maintain learning resources.
Stakeholder engagement Build strong relationships with subject matter experts and operational teams; coordinate with other stakeholders for program delivery.
Team contribution Foster a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team culture.

About You (Eligibility)

  • Australian citizenship is required for APS roles unless an exception is granted in writing by the Agency Head (Public Service Act 1999).
  • Experience delivering adult learning programs, preferably in procurement or contract management.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills; ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and related frameworks (or willingness to learn).
  • Ability to design, pilot, test and administer training courses; experience with learning management systems (e.g., APSLearn) and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills; collaborative mindset and commitment to inclusion.
