Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG). Our team is the custodian of Australia’s
potent Collins Class submarine fleet, responsible for its complete whole-of-life management—from
complex sustainment and deep maintenance to delivering cutting-edge upgrades.

A Technical Strategist : You have a proven background in managing complex assets (e.g., in
Defence, aerospace, maritime, mining, rail, or energy) and can develop effective long-term
sustainment plans.

stakeholders, from uniformed Navy personnel and industry partners to technical specialists and
senior executives.
A Data-Driven Decision Maker : You possess the sound judgement to perform systematic
analysis of performance, cost, and risk data (e.g., Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and
Safety – RAMS) to justify critical decisions.

- Key responsibilities:
- Assist in Develop, implement, and manage whole-of-life asset management strategies and
- plans for your designated submarine systems.
- Assist in Maintain accurate asset records in line with organisational policies and systems.
- Assist in leading engagement with stakeholders across the Royal Australian Navy, industry
- partners, and technical authorities to ensure integrated and effective sustainment.
- Analyse asset-related data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Support collaborative efforts across departments to improve assets utilisations.
- Ensure all activities are conducted within a framework of legislation, established principles,
- and Defence’s mission.
