Sustainment Group (NSSG). The team contributes to the whole-of-life sustainment of Collins
Class submarine platform systems, supporting safety, reliability, availability, maintainability and

The team works closely with Australian Public Servants, uniformed Royal Australian Navy
members, engineering organisations, logistics specialists, configuration management staff and
industry partners. The Sustainment Support Officer provides practical administrative and
coordination support across this busy team, helping maintain business rhythm and supporting
effective governance and sustainment activity.

Duties

  • The Role
  • Your Mission: Provide essential support to Australia’s Collins Class submarine sustainment
  • enterprise.
  • This is an opportunity to support one of Australia’s most important Defence capabilities. As a
  • Sustainment Support Officer, you will provide administrative and coordination support to the
  • Collins Submarine Program’s Platform Systems Sustainment team.
  • Your work will help reduce low-level transaction and coordination burden across the team so
  • System Asset Managers, Deputy System Asset Managers and Assistant Asset Managers can
  • focus on asset management, prioritisation, decision-making, stakeholder engagement and
  • governance.
  • You will support the business rhythm, meeting administration, action tracking, document
  • management and routine coordination activities that help the team sustain safe, available and
  • capable Collins Class submarine platform systems.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative and coordination support across the Platform Systems Sustainment
  • team.
  • Maintain simple registers, action lists, contact lists, document trackers and routine records.
  • Assist with meeting coordination including calendar invites, room bookings, agenda
  • preparation, attendance lists, minutes and action updates.
  • Support preparation and formatting of routine briefs, reports, presentations and
  • correspondence.
  • Help collate information from System Asset Managers (SAM), Deputy SAMs and Assistant
  • Asset Managers for team reporting and business rhythm activities.
  • Assist with follow-up of routine actions arising from PSSG, working groups and internal team
  • meetings.
  • Support document and records management in Objective or other approved Defence
  • systems.
  • Assist with data entry or information updates in approved systems under direction.
  • Help coordinate stakeholder engagement activities, workshops and routine team
  • communications.
  • Support general office administration, onboarding support, travel coordination, procurement
  • support or other routine business support tasks as required.
  • Escalate overdue actions, missing information or administrative issues to the appropriate
  • team member.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted within a framework of legislation, established principles,
  • Defence governance and Defence’s mission.
