Threat Management and Intelligence actively collects, evaluates and analyses information to
assess the capability and intent of hostile threat actors. Threat actors may seek to do harm to
Home Affairs personnel or assets and have origins from organisations or individuals. Threat
Management and Intelligence provide assessments, advice and ongoing threat monitoring in order
protect Home Affairs from external and insider threat, enable informed decision making and to
mitigate security risk.

Duties

  • Drive intelligence direction and collection planning to support threat analysis
  • Provide support to specialist and/or strategic advice to internal and external stakeholders,
  • the Executive on complex security threat matters
  • Conduct operational assessments of security incidents and reporting
  • Ensure a constant delivery of timely, accurate and relevant security threat product to inform
  • the executive and policy
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and other
  • relevant legislative requirements, industry standards and better practice models

Eligibility / Notes

  • To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Positive Vetting (AGSVA)
  • security clearance, and:
  • ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability
  • Clearance (ESC).
  • Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
  • In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition
  • to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
