About Department of Defence
The EWIS J&A SPO undertakes the acquisition and through-life-support of assigned Joint and Air
Electronic Warfare Capabilities used by the Australian Defence Force. It delivers countermeasures
development and validation services and supports capability delivery on behalf of the Intelligence
and Security Group and the Australian Defence Force.
The EWIS J&A SPO are comprised of members of diverse skills and disciplines who work together
to provide a wide variety of activities undertaken by EWIS. It has a high performing culture and the

considerate team and leadership group.
You will be part of the Sustainment Management Unit team and your Integrated Logistics Support
knowledge will support technical and sustainment activities to ensure quality, and compliance with
appropriate technical delegations commensurate with relevant legislative, policy and regulatory
frameworks. You will engage with stakeholders, investigate, report, develop, evaluate, advise and
implement policies, processes, procedures, practice and manage resources specific to assurance
and data specifications to support Defence capability.
Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to working collaboratively with the team
and a broad range of stakeholders to meet our legal, regulatory and governance requirements in
the acquisition and sustainment of EW capabilities. The candidate should be able to interpret and
provide advice on relevant legislation, policy and procedures and be able to apply that knowledge
to the ongoing management of EW capabilities.
The candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the Integrated Logistic principles and apply
these principles to the sustainment of EW capabilities. The candidate should have, or be able to
quickly develop, an understanding on how inventory management is utilised in the Enterprise
Resource Planning (ERP) system. ERP knowledge in logistics is highly desirable. An
understanding of Defence disposals processes and experience in disposals is also highly
desirable.
The candidate should identify opportunities to improve processes, introduce efficiencies and
demonstrate a willingness to innovate and challenge existing approaches where appropriate.

Duties
- The Role
- The Electromagnetic Warfare Intelligence Systems, Joint and Air Systems Program Office (EWIS
- J&A SPO) is seeking a highly professional and motivated Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)
- Officer to join the team. Working in the Intelligence and Air program, you will be part of the CAF15
- Sustainment Management Unit team with a mixture of APS, ADF and Contractors in managing the
- logistics aspects of the Capability Life Cycle.
- The duties of an APS 5 ILS Officer – Sustainment occupation in Defence include the following:
- Accountable to allocate work, resources and tasks and set work area priorities to meet work
- area outcomes.
- Coordinate the provision of advice and guidance to others on complex materiel logistics
- activities and tasks.
- Contribute to the development of materiel logistics strategies and plans for information,
- communications, quality and resources that support the objectives of a sustainment activity.
- Administer the implementation processes and procedures to support the sustainment of
- equipment in accordance with Defence requirements.
- Review and advise on materiel logistics performance within an acquisition project or activity.
- Understand and apply organisational processes and procedures in the development of
- Integrated Logistics Support Instructions and materiel support plans.
- Liaise and maintain productive relationships with internal and external materiel logistics
- stakeholders.
- Communicate materiel logistics requirements through detailed written documents and oral
- presentations for higher delegate consideration.
- Interpret and complies with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Adapt and adjust materiel logistics activities to ensure alignment with sustainment objectives.
