About Australian National Maritime Museum
As a Finance Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Museum’s financial operations.
You’ll help ensure that payments are accurate, accounts are balanced, and stakeholders across
the organisation can rely on timely, clear information.
Your work will sit at the heart of the organisation, contributing to both the Museum and its
Foundation.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be involved in a mix of day-to-day finance work and broader team support, including:
Processing supplier and customer invoices accurately and on time
Monitoring payables and receivables and following up where needed
Reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies
Supporting credit card administration, acquittals and reconciliations
Managing finance queries from staff, customers and suppliers
Maintaining records in financial systems and supporting reporting
This is a hands-on role where consistency, accuracy and responsiveness really matter.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who has:
Experience working in a finance team or relevant accounting qualifications
Strong attention to detail and confidence working with numbers
Clear communication skills and the ability to work with a range of people
Good organisation skills and the ability to meet deadlines
If you’ve worked with finance systems, Excel, or tools like Salesforce, that’s a bonus, but not
essential.

Qualifications in accounting and/ or experience working in a finance team.
Excellent attention to detail, strong numeracy and literacy skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal) with the ability to
collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
