About Australian War Memorial
The Australian War Memorial combines a shrine, a world-class museum, and an extensive archive. The Memorial’s purpose is to
commemorate the sacrifice of those Australians who have died in war or on operational service and those who have served our
nation in times of conflict. Its mission is leading remembrance and understanding of Australia’s wartime experience.
Duties
- Under general direction and working within established frameworks, coordinate and oversee
- the delivery of allocated projects and VIP visits.
- Prepare a wide range of event administration, correspondence and office support tasks to a
- high standard.
- Provide efficient, responsive and timely communications to internal and external
- stakeholders ensuring concise, polite and professional standards that build and maintain
- strong working relationships.
- Actively participate and contribute to team and section meetings, providing updates on work
- and sharing of information and ideas.
- With support of senior team members and managers, direct and supervise suppliers and
- contractors in the delivery of requirements.
- Undertake manual handling and movement of a wide range of objects including but not
- limited to audio-visual equipment, bollards, barriers and other items used in the delivery of
- events and ceremonies.
Eligibility / Notes
- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to
- be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
- All applicants external to AWM that are offered employment will be required to successfully
- undergo a National Police Check, even if they currently hold a security clearance. The check
- is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy
- Framework requirements.
