About Royal Australian Mint

The Royal Australian Mint (the Mint) is a small government agency working within the
Commonwealth Government Portfolio of the Treasury. The Mint is a non-corporate
Commonwealth Entity and is listed under the Public Governance Performance and Accountability
(PGPA Act). The Mint is also covered by the (Cth) (PS Act). Act 2013 Public Service Act 1999
The Mint makes coins and other minted products to serve the needs of the Australian economy,
foreign countries, investors and collectors. We are stewards of a thriving national institution that

Coin making – polishing, laser frosting, 3D engraving, Physical Vapour Deposition hard
coating, chrome plating, dies inspection and collars manufacture.
Machinery – operate and maintain minting critical machines.

Coin Sculpting – design coins, medals, medallions, and token, etc.
Graphic Design – design coin packaging materials, exhibition graphics, etc.
Engineering – technical support and manufacturing operations.

Duties

  • Lead, manage and develop the Die Polishing team to deliver production targets to the
  • required quality standards.
  • Plan, prioritise and coordinate workflows to meet production deadlines and quality targets
  • while managing competing operational demands.
  • Apply technical expertise to troubleshoot production issues and ensure compliance with
  • relevant quality specifications.
  • Anticipate operational challenges, interpret performance data, and engage proactively with
  • stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Conduct and update WHS risk assessments, investigate incidents, maintain team safety
  • training and competency, and foster a culture of safety within the Die Polishing team.
  • Monitor quality metrics and deliver monthly performance reports on productivity, quality, and
  • compliance to the Toolroom & Die Polishing Manager.
  • Support capital projects and change management activities within own area of responsibility.
  • Maintain proficiency with relevant digital systems (ERP, Microsoft Office Suite) and support
  • team capability in system use.

  • strategic priorities.
