About Australian Secret Intelligence Service

ASIS is Australia’s overseas secret intelligence collection agency. Its mission is to protect and promote Australia’s vital interests
through the provision of intelligence services as directed by the Government. Its work can involve collecting intelligence relating to
national security, international relations and economic issues. It also contributes to Australia’s coordinated national efforts against
terrorism, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and trans-national issues such as people smuggling.

Duties

  • Key Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Build, manage and optimise containerised workflows using Podman and Kubernetes
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software

  • Write and maintain scripts in Python to automate various DevOps tasks
  • Utilise GitHub Actions to streamline the development and deployment processes
  • Collaborate with SREs, data engineers, and data scientists to ensure seamless integration
  • and deployment of applications
  • Monitor and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines to identify and resolve issues promptly
  • Ensure the security, scalability, and performance of our infrastructure and applications
  • Document processes and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team
  • Education, Qualification and Experience Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in a DevOps engineering role.
  • Proven expertise in managing containerised workflows using Podman and Kubernetes.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions for automating workflows.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and best practices.
  • Experience working within air-gapped environments.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal management oversight.
