About Australian Nuclear Science and Technology
Join the Controls and Scientific Computing function at the Australian Synchrotron, where you will
design, develop and support integrated control and automation solutions that enable scientific and
operational outcomes. The role focuses on beamline or accelerator systems, including motion
control, data acquisition, real-time systems and EPICS-based platforms, working closely with
multidisciplinary engineering and science teams.
Duties
- Your Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement and support control and automation systems across beamline
- and accelerator environments
- Work with motion control, data acquisition, distributed control and real-time systems
- Perform testing, integration and commissioning of hardware and software systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to maintain reliable system performance
- Provide operational support for beamline and accelerator control systems
- Support delivery of projects through engineering, integration and commissioning activities
- Collaborate with engineering, science and computing teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Support system lifecycle activities including upgrades, optimisation and maintenance
- Contribute to design reviews, standards and continuous improvement initiatives (depending
- on experience)
