Duties
- lead and assure IT lifecycle management activities, ensuring ICT assets and services are
- appropriately planned, procured, operated and retired in accordance with departmental
- policies, governance frameworks and whole-of-life value principles
- exercise delivery assurance oversight across ICT initiatives and operational services,
- monitoring performance, cost, risk and benefits realisation, and intervening where required to
- address systemic or emerging delivery issues
- manage ICT stakeholder relationships across the departments business areas, the CIO
- Branch and external service providers, influencing outcomes to ensure ICT services meet
- agreed business, operational and compliance requirements
- develop, validate and maintain ICT costings and financial inputs to support budgeting,
- forecasting, business cases and value for money assessments across IT Operations
- oversee ICT contracting activities, including contributing to procurement processes,
- managing contractual obligations, monitoring vendor performance and escalating issues as
- required to protect departmental interests
- ensure ICT licensing compliance and optimisation, maintaining accurate records, mitigating
- financial and compliance risks and identifying opportunities to improve licensing efficiency
- analyse audit outcomes, performance data and risk indicators to inform decisions,
- recommend improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across ICT
- operations
- prepare high quality, evidence-based advice, briefs and reports for senior executives on ICT
- delivery performance, lifecycle risks, contractual matters and financial impacts
- lead, supervise and develop staff, setting clear expectations, managing performance and
- fostering a respectful, inclusive and outcomes focused team culture consistent with APS
- Values and the Code of Conduct.
