About Australian Competition and Consumer Commission

The ACCC is an independent statutory authority that administers the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and other Acts. The
ACCC works to promote effective competition and fair trading in the market place to benefit consumers, business and the
community, and efficiency in the delivery of certain infrastructure services. The AER is a part of the ACCC. The AER is Australia’s
national energy market regulator and has an independent board. The AER shares employees, resources and facilities with the
ACCC.

Duties

  • As a Senior Project Officer, you will support the CDR Division’s priority work through effective
  • governance, coordination and delivery oversight. The role has a strong focus on improving
  • visibility of delivery health, supporting high-quality decision-making, identifying and escalating risks
  • early, and contributing to consistent and accountable delivery practices across the division.
  • The position works closely with stakeholders across the Consumer Data Right Division and may
  • contribute to strengthening governance, assurance, reporting and follow-through across divisional
  • priorities.
  • As the Senior Project Officer, you will:
  • Support delivery assurance and governance activities across divisional priority work,
  • including monitoring delivery health, risks, issues and actions with a focus on early visibility
  • and escalation.
  • Prepare clear, decision-ready reporting, briefings and governance materials that support
  • timely and informed decision-making by leaders.
  • Analyse delivery information to identify emerging risks, themes and insights, and support
  • practical interventions or improvements to delivery practices.
  • Contribute to the development and uplift of templates, tools, guidance and reporting
  • approaches that enable consistent and accountable delivery across teams.
  • Work collaboratively with teams to strengthen delivery discipline, clarify ownership and
  • improve transparency across priority work.
  • Provide secretariat and coordination support for governance forums, including maintaining
  • clear records of decisions, ownership, and follow-through on agreed actions.

Eligibility / Notes

  • All candidates are expected to meet the APS Integrated Leadership Profile (ILS) for the
  • classification advertised. Follow the link for more information on the ILS. This role in particular
  • requires:
  • Demonstrated experience supporting governance, assurance or delivery oversight activities,
  • including risk, issue, dependency and action management, with a focus on identifying and
  • escalating risks early.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise
  • and decision-ready advice, reporting and briefing materials for a range of audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and prioritise competing work, maintain accuracy, and
  • support consistent follow-through on agreed priorities and deliverables.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret delivery
  • information, identify emerging risks and themes, and support practical recommendations or
  • interventions.
  • The following job specific criteria are also highly desirable:
  • Experience contributing to the development or improvement of governance processes,
  • templates, reporting or ways of working to support consistent and accountable delivery
  • across teams.
  • Experience using Microsoft 365 tools, including PowerPoint, Excel and Power BI, to support
  • reporting, analysis or coordination activities.
