LC4S Branch acquires, integrates and sustains Command, Control, Communication, and
Computer Systems to Army and Joint Force.
The CA33 team sits within the Land Battlespace Awareness and Management Systems Program
Office (LBAM SPO), which is an exciting and complex environment, offering a rewarding career in
one of the most dynamic organisations within the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group
(CASG). Their mission is to acquire and sustain the digital Command, Control, Communications
and Computing (C4) systems for the Australian Defence Force land combat operations.
LSD’s mission is to acquire and support capability that enables the ADF to generate and sustain
deployable Land power for an integrated force, in peace and war. LSD aim to be agile, innovative
and outcomes-focused, collaborating closely with the Services and industry to deliver the latest
equipment to maximise ADF performance.

Our Ideal Candidate
LC4S Branch and LSD are is seeking applicants with extensive knowledge of Product (or Project)
Management and Sustainment, who also demonstrate comprehensive experience leading teams
to deliver strategic capabilities within the Defence environment.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills, and will have a
proven history of building, maintaining and growing productive and empowered teams.
Experience working as a Product or Project Manager with demonstrated firsthand
experience managing contracts, developing and maintaining schedules and managing
budgets.
Sound initiative and will exercise good professional judgement in the interpretation of policy
and the application of practice and procedures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to liaise with various
levels of stakeholders to resolve complex issues.
Comprehensive leadership experience with an established and effective approach to
managing staff to deliver outcomes against schedule and budget targets (and who values
teamwork and performs well in a diverse and integrated environment).
Strong knowledge of, and alignment to, Defence values and behaviours.
Duties
- The Role
- Land Command, Control, Communications & Computer Systems (LC4S) Branch and Land
- Systems Division (LSD) are seeking a dynamic leader who has a proven track record of sustaining
- communications products and associated ancillaries within the Land environment. Your role as an
- EL 1 Product Manager will see you exercising a considerable degree of independence in the
- performance of this key leadership role.
- As an EL 1 Product Manager you will be accountable to manage a range of product management
- activities, including the development, implementation and monitoring of product management
- strategies and plans, enabling delivery and reporting on the requirements and expectations of the
- management of critical Defence assets.
- You will be required to exercise sound decision-making and judgement to enable the accurate
- completion of work to a high quality, within designated timeframes by managing resources, setting
- work area priorities and plans, managing workflows, developing execution strategies, evaluating
- business outcomes, knowledge sharing, guiding and coaching team members to develop them
- professionally. Your role sits within a diverse, multi-disciplinary team which includes Project,
- Engineering and Product Management functions established to support and achieve capability
- outcomes for the ADF.
- This environment requires continuous development and maintenance of internal and external
- stakeholder relationships (including senior level Capability Manager Representatives and Industry
- Partners) who all contribute to the successful delivery of ADF capabilities. The team is based at
- Defence Plaza in Melbourne and is supportive of achieving a balance between work and life.
- Flexible working arrangements may be negotiated. Work from home arrangements will be
- considered, however, this role cannot be performed remotely on a full-time basis.
