About Australian Communications and Media Authority

The , under the direction of the Agency Security Advisor, is responsible Agency Security Officer
for protecting personnel, information, and assets by identifying, assessing, and managing security
risks and threats specific to eSafety.
The role also supports compliance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF),
including reporting on personnel and physical security, and assists in the coordination,
implementation, and testing of emergency management procedures. This includes ensuring that
security policies, procedures, and documentation remain current and aligned with government and
legislative requirements.
In addition, the position is responsible for administering and managing security clearance
processes, including handling clearance applications, monitoring ongoing suitability, and liaising
with stakeholders under the direction of the ACMA Agency Security Advisor to support a secure
operating environment.

Duties

  • Assessing and managing threats to personnel, assets, and workplaces.
  • Liaising with law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and other relevant authorities.
  • Managing and administering security clearance processes.
  • Providing security advice, briefings, and incident reporting.
  • Supporting PSPF compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinating emergency management procedures and exercises.
  • Maintaining and updating security policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and
  • service providers.
  • Contributing to process improvement and continuous enhancement of security practices.

Eligibility / Notes

  • To be eligible for employment with the ACMA, applicants must be Australian citizens.
  • The successful applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 Security
  • or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level. More information on the Clearance
