About Department of Defence

The Joint Transition Authority (JTA) is accountable for ensuring ADF personnel and their families
are better prepared and supported through all stages of transition, during service and afterwards.
Transition Service Delivery staff are located predominantly in JTA Transition Centres, located
across major military establishments nationally.
Aligned with the Defence Strategic Review, the JTA has implemented an operating model that
ensures process singularity and consistent transition service delivery to all members, regardless of
Service.

Duties

  • The Role
  • Transition Centre OIC responsibilities include:
  • Leading and managing an integrated team of ADF, APS and contracted members, including
  • geographically dispersed staff
  • Ensuring that the Transition Centre is appropriately resourced to meet service delivery need
  • Ensuring an ADF member and family centric approach to all transition activities;
  • Supporting ADF Commanders to transition members from service, which may include
  • attendance at stakeholder engagement activities or other meetings;
  • Exercise delegations for the Defence Force Transition Program;
  • Lead the local delivery of ADF Member and Family Transition Seminars (face to face) and
  • support virtual seminars, including resource management and presentation delivery.
  • Prepare correspondence and reports including emails and letters on routine and more
  • complex matters
  • Contribute to managing and leading organisational change
  • Responsible for compliance, governance and assurance feedback requests
  • Accountability for Transition Centre performance including remediation activities.
  • Ability to make decisions from a trauma informed, member centric basis.
