About Civil Aviation Safety Authority Australia
The National Operations and Standards Division is responsible for policy and legislation of all
aviation safety standards. This includes licensing, flight operations, airworthiness, air navigation,
airspace, aerodromes and remotely piloted aircraft systems. The Division is also responsible for
nationally administered regulatory services and surveillance, including general and sport aviation,
aircraft certification and production, air navigation services, airspace, aerodromes and remotely
piloted aircraft systems.
Duties
- Ensuring Australia remains at the forefront of aviation safety by shaping national regulations that
- give effect to evolving International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards
- Diving into complex research and risk assessments that influence national aviation policy
- Analysing safety data and craft guidelines that keep Australia’s skies among the safest in the
- world
- Providing expert advice on Australian regulation and international aviation standards
- Representing CASA at various forums and being the voice of aviation safety excellence.
- We’re looking for someone who combines technical know-how with sharp problem-solving skills
- and sound judgment. Someone who can anticipate challenges, identify practical solutions, and
- consider the broader impact of regulatory decisions would thrive in this role.

- At a minimum, prospective CASA employees must undergo pre-employment screening and
- must be willing to provide the required information to successfully undergo a police record check.
- The position’s occupant must be an Australian citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain the
- required level of security clearance as required.
- Undertake and pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug test as part of CASA’s Alcohol and
- Other Drugs Directive and Procedure.
