About Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC)
The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) is Australia’s national criminal intelligence agency. Our vision is an
Australia hostile to criminal exploitation. We work with our national and international partners to conduct investigations and collect
intelligence to combat serious and organised crime, cybercrime and national security threats. We develop and maintain national
information and intelligence sharing services and systems for use by state, territory and Commonwealth law enforcement agencies.
We also deliver nationwide background checking services to support employment or entitlement decisions to keep the Australian
community safe. The ACIC Board provides strategic direction to the ACIC and represents Commonwealth, state and territory law
enforcement and other regulatory agencies. Our purpose is to protect Australia from criminal threats through coordinating a
strategic response and collecting, assessing and disseminating intelligence and policing information.
Duties
- Perform a range of psychological assessments
- Provide a range of psychological assessment advice and aftercare advice on wellbeing
- issues
- Provide a range of psychological advice to staff exposed to explicit or objectionable material
- Provide a range of psychological advice to the Agency in support of recruitment and
- management of staff
- Provide other services and specialist input
- Your skills and capabilities
- We invite applications from people with the following experience, skills and attributes:
- Demonstrated experience in conducting psychological assessments using case formulation
- methodology
- Demonstrated training and experience in the clinical assessment of mental health issues
- Demonstrated ability to communicate psychological opinions and advice in support of
- organisational functions
- Strong ethical boundaries and well-developed problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
- Well-developed collaboration skills and a demonstrated ability to work well in teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and fluctuating workloads.
Eligibility / Notes
- Qualifications and experience
- Mandatory
- General registration as a psychologist (unconditional) with the Psychology Board of Australia
- (PsyBA)
- Master degree or equivalent in Clinical, Forensic or Organisational Psychology
- 5 years post registration experience
