Lead planning and ongoing management of corruption investigations, including record keeping to ensure robust and timely outcomes.
Facilitate effective working relationships within a multidisciplinary team (investigators, analysts, lawyers, specialists).
Undertake and/or assist in investigation activities: identify lines of enquiry, prepare investigation plans, collect evidence, draft notices and affidavits, obtain warrants, and conduct interviews.
Oversee analysis of large and complex data sets; prepare investigation reports, witness statements, briefs of evidence, and give court evidence.
Provide advice to the Commissioner and senior executives on ongoing progress and outcomes.
Ensure governance and effective relationships with partner agencies and stakeholders.
Lead by example, develop and mentor junior staff; may include direct line management of APS6 investigators.
Contribute to continuous improvement of investigative functions, including policies, procedures, tools and best practices.
Promote a healthy, safe, ethical working environment aligned with the APS Code of Conduct.
Occasional national travel to support operational requirements.

About You (Eligibility)

  • Australian citizenship is required.
  • Security clearance: Designated Security Assessment Position (DSAP); ability to obtain and retain AGSVA Negative Vetting 1 clearance.
  • Suitability screening including detailed background, character, employment, police and financial checks.
  • Probation period applies to new ongoing engagements.
  • Qualification: Diploma in Government Investigations (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain mandatory qualifications.
  • Experience in leading investigations, managing teams, and working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, communication and mentoring skills; ability to operate under APS governance and ethical standards.
