Duties
- We are seeking experienced legal professionals to join our Litigation and Legal Services (LLS)
- team.
- As a Principal Litigator, you will provide authoritative, strategic legal advice and litigation services
- to support the administration of the laws overseen by the Commissioner of Taxation. You’ll lead
- the management of the most complex, sensitive and high-risk litigation and dispute resolution
- matters, exercising a high level of independent judgement and professional expertise.
- You will represent the Commissioner in courts and tribunals on significant and precedential
- matters relating to taxation, debt recovery, insolvency or administrative law. You’ll proactively
- oversee the delivery of legal services, ensuring effective case management, quality outcomes and
- alignment with organisational priorities.
- You will provide visible leadership, working collaboratively across teams to support the prevention
- and early resolution of disputes. You’ll actively develop staff capability through mentoring and
- coaching, contributing to strategic decision-making and supporting the implementation of the
- agency’s strategic direction.
