Duties
- Your duties and responsibilities will be aligned to the relevant APS Work Level Standards.
- Your key duties may include:
- Leading the development, implementation and review of organisational strategy, regulatory
- governance and policy, and compliance and enforcement approaches aligned with the Director
- General’s strategic direction.
- Overseeing enterprise and regulatory risk management activities, including reputational,
- compliance and WHS risks, and providing advice on emerging and strategic risks.
- Ensuring regulatory approaches are risk-based, proportionate and minimise unnecessary
- regulatory burden across the regulated sector.
- Providing strategic leadership of ASNO’s digital, data and emerging artificial intelligence (AI)
- capabilities to support a modern, risk-based regulatory framework, ensuring regulatory systems,
- information assets and cross-regulator solutions enable effective compliance, enforcement and
- decision-making in line with Australia’s non-proliferation obligations and whole-of-government
- policy.
- Providing advice to senior leadership on reputational, strategic and capability implications arising
- from ASNO’s internal decisions, external activities and operating environment, including
- government priorities, geopolitical developments and public narratives.
- Leading ASNO’s strategic communications, outreach and stakeholder engagement activities,
- translating complex safeguards, non-proliferation, regulatory and international security issues into
- clear and influential strategies and messaging that strengthen trust in ASNO and support
- Australia’s international security and treaty objectives.
- Leading communications strategies that strengthen ASNO’s organisational profile and support
- workforce attraction, recruitment and retention by promoting ASNO as a trusted, contemporary
- and purpose-driven regulator and employer.
- Supporting senior leadership forums, assurance processes and high-priority or time-sensitive
- issues.

- employed in the Australian Public Service (APS) unless the Agency Head has agreed otherwise,
