About National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Quality
The Market Operations Branch plays a central role in shaping a safe, diverse, and high-quality
NDIS provider market. It consists of three core teams:
Provider Registrations
Audit and Monitoring
Worker Screening and Market Coordination
These teams work together to register providers, assess and monitor auditors, and lead NDIS
worker screening nationally. Please specify in your Statement of Claims, which role(s) you would
be interested in.
Provider Registration
The Provider Registration team performs a wide range of activities designed to develop a diverse,
vibrant and high-quality NDIS market supporting NDIS participants. The team manages the
registration process that incorporates the NDIS Practice Standards and suitability assessments
and administers the national audit scheme. Further, the team provides education, guidance, and
best practice information to NDIS providers to support compliance with registration requirements.
Audit and Monitoring
The Audit and Monitoring teams supports the delivery of the NDIS Commission Approved Quality
Auditor Program. The team ensures high-quality audit services that provide robust assessments of
NDIS providers, conformity with the NDIS practice Standards and provider compliance with their
registration related obligations.
Worker Screening and Market Coordination
The Worker Screening & Market Coordination team is responsible for delivering high-quality
support for participants and providers through national operational leadership of NDIS worker
screening, data custodianship of the NDIS worker screening database, facilitating the use of
worker screening information to manage risks for participants and managing publication of
Commission compliance and enforcement decisions.
Duties

- Assistant Directors within the Market Operations Branch work alongside the EL2 Director to lead
- and manage a team to perform a diverse number of tasks, all designed to develop a diverse and
- high-quality NDIS market supporting NDIS participants. This includes matters relating to
- registering and monitoring providers’ registration, reporting on service delivery agreements, NDIS
- worker screening and market operations functions, audit functions, and other regulatory and
- administration matters. Assistant Directors are responsible for their team’s performance in
- researching, interpreting, and assessing information from a wide range of sources, including
- legislation and protected information, to inform their work. They collaborate internally and
- externally across agencies to build mutually productive stakeholder relationships to achieve
- high-quality outcomes.

Eligibility / Notes
- It is desirable for the occupant to have:
- Knowledge and experience in contemporary regulation and risk management in a
- government setting (preferably in a licensing or registration environment) and how it applies
- in the context of disability and human-rights
- A strong understanding and experience of relevant audit schemes and how these support
- the delivery of quality services for NDIS participants
- An understanding of and can interpret and apply the NDIS act and rules, and the NDIS
- quality and safeguarding framework, including regulatory and compliance processes
- Strong understanding of human-centred regulatory frameworks and their application
- including the legislative basis for decisions
