Duties

  • The Role
  • The Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO) is seeking highly motivated candidates
  • to fill Executive Level 1 assistant director positions within the Intelligence & Insights Branch and
  • the Targeting, Mission and Engagement Branch.
  • In this role, you will lead complex intelligence analysis and production efforts, shaping the efforts
  • of analysts to align with Defence and Australian Government priorities.
  • In any given week, you will:
  • Work across teams to lead the delivery of complex GEOINT and imagery analysis,
  • developing new and improved tradecraft, mentoring staff and overseeing delivery of high
  • quality intelligence.
  • Develop and leverage your own subject-matter expertise to advise colleagues and lead
  • cross-directorate initiatives.
  • Through leadership, guidance and mentoring, drive accountability, capability uplift and
  • professional growth within the analytical cadre.
  • Ensure analytical products meet legislative, policy, tradecraft/quality and governance
  • requirements.
  • Deliver written and verbal briefs and advice to a wide range of stakeholders, including senior
  • decision-makers.
  • Build, maintain and leverage productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence
  • Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base
  • salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for
  • positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. For
