Duties
- Our ideal candidate for the role will be a strong people leader with several years’ experience
- leading procurement outcomes in a Commonwealth Agency. You will have well-developed
- leadership skills, written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation skills. You will have
- in-depth knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and supporting instructions.
- Under limited direction, our ideal candidate will lead a range of contracting and procurement
- activities, demonstrating their experience, knowledge of and compliance with legislative
- frameworks, government decision-making and the Australian Signals Directorate’s mission and
- policy requirements. The ability to analyse procurement policies and guidance and communicate
- direction to business areas is critical.
- Our ideal candidate will work independently with a high degree of autonomy and accountability
- and as a member of an experienced and professional team, for the achievement of agreed
- outcomes. Candidates will be expected to exercise both initiative and judgement in the
- interpretation of policy and in the application of ASD-specific practices and procedures.
Eligibility / Notes
- To be eligible for employment with ASD, you must meet of the following eligibility criteria: all
- Australian Citizenship – Applicants must be an Australian citizen. Only in exceptional
- circumstances can this requirement be waivered.
- Organisational Suitability Assessment – The preferred applicant will be required to
- undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (see Organisational Assessment section).
- Security Clearance – It is a condition of employment that applicants are willing and able to
- obtain and maintain the requisite security clearance for the duration of their employment with
- ASD.
- Health Assessment – The preferred applicant may be required to undergo a medical
- examination conducted by the Agency’s preferred medical provider.
