Duties
- Our ideal candidate is an experienced administrator who, under direction, will perform a range of
- contracting, procurement, section finance and administration activities. Candidates will be able to
- demonstrate their experience, knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks,
- government decision-making and the Australian Signals Directorate’s mission and policy
- requirements.
- The ASD4 and ASD5 Procurement Officers will be able to work within a multi-disciplined and
- fast-paced environment, as a member of an experienced and professional team, for the
- achievement of agreed outcomes. Candidates will be expected to exercise both initiative and
- judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of ASD-specific practices and
- procedures.
- Our ideal candidate will have well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including
- negotiation skills. A working knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and experience
- with Federal Government procurements or associated processes is necessary. The ability to
- analyse procurement policies and guidance, and communicate direction to business areas is
- critical.
Eligibility / Notes
- To be eligible for employment with ASD, you must meet of the following eligibility criteria: all
- Australian Citizenship – Applicants must be an Australian citizen. Only in exceptional
- circumstances can this requirement be waivered.
- Organisational Suitability Assessment – The preferred applicant will be required to
- undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (see Organisational Assessment section).
- Security Clearance – It is a condition of employment that applicants are willing and able to
- obtain and maintain the requisite security clearance for the duration of their employment with
- ASD.
- Health Assessment – The preferred applicant may be required to undergo a medical
- examination conducted by the Agency’s preferred medical provider.
