The High Frequency Sensing Systems Program Office (HFSSPO) is an exciting environment to

HFSSPO acquires, sustains, and exports High Frequency radar capabilities for the Australian
Defence Force. This includes the world leading Jindalee Over the Horizon Radar.

Our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an experienced logistics, project or asset management professional who enjoys
working in a fast-paced environment and delivering practical outcomes. The ideal candidate will be
able to quickly establish themselves in the role, building strong relationships across Defence and
industry while confidently managing competing priorities to support the successful delivery of
Australia’s largest Defence export program.

Duties

  • The Role
  • This is a rare opportunity to join the High Frequency Sensing Systems Program Office (HFSSPO)
  • Exports Office and contribute directly to the largest Defence export program in Australian history.
  • HFSSPO is responsible for the acquisition and sustainment of Australia’s world-leading Over the
  • Horizon Radar (OTHR) capability. Through the Arctic Over the Horizon Radar (A-OTHR) export
  • program, Australian innovation, engineering excellence and sovereign capability are being
  • delivered to Canada in a landmark Defence export achievement. As the APS6 Government
  • Furnished Equipment (GFE) Manager, you will be the focal point for coordinating and managing
  • Government Furnished Equipment throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Working across Defence, industry and project teams, you will help ensure equipment, facilities and
  • information are delivered in accordance with project schedules, contractual obligations and
  • Defence policy. This role offers a unique combination of logistics, project coordination,
  • stakeholder, engagement and governance responsibilities. You will be trusted to take ownership of
  • a key function within a high-profile export program, building strong relationships and helping drive
  • outcomes that directly contribute to capability delivery.
  • In this role, you will:
  • Coordinate the delivery of Government Furnished Equipment in line with project schedules
  • and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain oversight of GFE status, accountability and asset records across the program.
  • Build strong relationships with Defence, industry and project stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies to support successful delivery
  • outcomes.
  • Support governance, reporting, audit and assurance activities.
  • Improve processes and systems that strengthen capability delivery and asset management.
  • Few APS 6 opportunities offer the chance to work on a program of this scale and significance. You
  • will gain exposure to complex Defence capability projects, engage with experienced Defence and
  • industry professionals, and contribute to a historic export program that showcases Australian
