About Australian Naval Nuclear Power Safety Regulator

The Senior Policy Officer role resides in the Strategic Policy Directorate of the Regulations
Frameworks branch.
This role forms part of a small, multidisciplinary team responsible for the identification of policy
problems and the development execution of sound, evidence-based solutions. Our team works
collaboratively and prioritises a culture of continuous learning and development, meaningful
engagement and curiosity to drive policy outcomes.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to utilise their policy experience to explore a
wide range of topics related to the regulation of Naval Nuclear Power activities and provide input
to the maturity of the ANNPSR strategic policy function.

Duties

  • The Role
  • The APS 6 Senior Policy Officer in the Regulatory Framework Branch work under limited direction
  • to identify and execute complex strategic policies to support the regulatory functions of
  • the Australian Naval Nuclear Power Safety Regulator (ANNPSR). Primary responsibilities of the
  • Senior Policy Officer role include:
  • Identification of policy issues and completion of broad ranging research and analysis
  • activities.
  • Drafting of strategic policy products including briefing material, internal agency
  • presentations, and policy artefacts.
  • Working with multidisciplinary teams across the agency and within the Regulation
  • Frameworks branch.
  • Measuring and monitoring of strategic policy effectiveness to identify areas of improvement.
  • Providing and supporting the provision of complex policy advice to further agency priorities.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of processes, procedures and tools that
  • support the delivery of high quality policy advice.
