Working in the Defence Digital Group (DDG), you will be contributing your expertise to some of the
most technically demanding and complex ICT and business transformation projects being
undertaken globally. DDG is transforming Defence ICT capabilities as a critical enabler of Defence

Our Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role you will be able to:
Identify and employ best practice analysis methods, critical thinking and problem-solving
skills to support the lifecycle management of digital products and platforms
Identify, analyse, isolate and interpret business and stakeholder needs to generate user
stories and requirements
Undertake detailed analysis, including gathering information from a range of sources to
produce consolidated reports and evidence-based advice to understand and address issues
or trends at a program and/or project level
Develop evidence-based recommendations to solve problems or identify opportunities within
the program and/or projects
Contribute to the preparation of capability development documentation, including business
cases and submissions to government
Build and cultivate constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Lead teams comprising of mixed technical, strategic and analytical skills
Provide high level secretariat support to all Digital Capability committees, including:
Analysing senior committee schedules to determine where there are ICT impacts or impacts
to DDG
managing scheduling and synchronisation of key committees and forums across the
Division, Group and department to ensure appropriate accountabilities and responsibilities
are being applied
Coordinating governance arrangements, including maintaining the Committee Charter and
work plans
Coordinating meeting arrangements, drafting briefs, agendas, papers, minutes and
managing actions arising

Duties

  • The Role
  • As a Capability Analyst in Defence Digital Group’s (DDG) Digital Capability Division (DCD), you
  • will use your leadership, analysis, critical thinking and problem solving skills to contribute to
  • strengthening Australia’s national security through digital capability decision-making.
  • These roles offer a unique opportunity for individuals to join a high performing team, and
  • undertake challenging yet exciting work that will make a direct impact to Defence’s digital
  • capabilities. Whilst no day is truly typical in Digital Capability Division, you can expect to critically
  • analyse information, influence and brief senior leaders, solve problems and manage internal and
  • external stakeholders.

  • by best-in-class global platforms, supported by best-in-class sovereign capabilities. Our goal is to
  • provide our war fighters the appropriate technologies needed to fight and win in the digital age.
  • This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence
  • Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base
  • salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for
  • positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. For
