Duties

  • Working under supervision, and APS5 Analysts/Investigators APS6 Senior Analysts/Senior
  • may: Investigators
  • Manage a range of cases at one time, including more complex matters, projects or
  • investigations.
  • Interpret and apply legislation and regulatory frameworks when assessing complex or
  • specialised issues, to support evidence-based recommendations.
  • Contribute to regulatory outcomes by analysing information and data, planning and
  • conducting investigations, gathering evidence, and supporting enforcement processes.
  • Contribute to regulatory risk assessments to identify priorities for compliance activities and
  • evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Help develop and put in place policies, processes and systems that support the day to day
  • administration of Australia’s foreign investment framework.
  • Contribute to business improvement initiatives across the branch or division.
  • APS6 Senior Analysts/Senior Investigators are expected to work with a higher level of
  • independence and take responsibility for managing their work and decision making.
  • Desirable Skills / Experience
  • Experience working with legislation to support regulatory decisions and outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the engage effectively with a wide
  • range of stakeholders.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships and work collaboratively to achieve timely
  • and practical outcomes.
  • Well-developed problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • High attention to detail in analysis and both written and verbal communication.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Sound judgment and resilience to achieve objectives in a fast-paced or challenging
  • environment.
  • The ability to work independently, show initiative and deliver results.

Eligibility / Notes

  • Under Section 22(8) of the , employees of the Treasury are required to be Public Service Act 1999
  • Australian Citizens.
  • Successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain, at a minimum, a Baseline security
  • clearance, and will be subject to pre-employment screening checks.
  • Some positions may require a higher level of clearance, as specified in the position description.
