Duties (What You Will Do)
| Lead and represent | Regulatory litigation matters including competition and consumer law, financial services and corporate regulatory cases. |
| Client liaison | Effectively represent Commonwealth agencies in dealings with opponents, witnesses, and counsel; maintain strong client relationships. |
| Case management | Draft advice, prepare for Federal Court proceedings, and contribute to strategic litigation planning. |
| Mentoring | Supervise and mentor junior lawyers and contribute to the DR team’s knowledge base. |
| Collaborative practice | Work with a broad community of professionals focused on national interest and Government priorities. |
About You (Eligibility)
- Typically 5+ years (EL1) or 7+ years (EL2) post-admission experience in relevant fields.
- Experience in regulatory work or litigation with ability to articulate technical arguments and assist Federal Court proceedings.
- Ability to work closely with clients to achieve strong regulatory outcomes; strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Australian Citizenship and willingness to obtain/maintain the required security clearance.
- Strong writing and advisory skills; ability to mentor and develop juniors; team-oriented approach.
