Duties (What You Will Do)
| Plan, lead and execute reviews (inspections and inquiries) of intelligence agency activities. This includes research, data analysis, document examination, stakeholder meetings, and finalising outcomes. |
| Foster and maintain independent, productive relationships with IGIS staff, agencies under oversight, and broader government stakeholders. |
| Critically analyse complex issues and documents; apply sound judgment, contest other views, and mentor junior officers in doing the same. |
| Communicate clearly—both verbally and in writing—to diverse audiences, including Senior Executive level staff. |
| Interpret and apply legislation, policies, and procedures related to agency activities. |
| Mentor and develop staff; handle highly classified and sensitive information daily; exercise professional discretion. |
| Contribute to learning and professional development activities within the Agency Oversight Branch. |
About You (Eligibility)
- Australian citizenship is required.
- Employment Suitability Assessment (ESA) clearance is required.
- Top-Secret Positive Vetting/Privileged Access security clearance required and to be maintained.
- Willingness to undergo security vetting that can take months; cooperation with documentation requests is essential.
- Willingness to relocate to Canberra; relocation assistance available.
