Duties (What You Will Do)

Key Responsibilities Specific Tasks
Administrative leadership Provide expert administrative support, interpret policy, and apply governance frameworks to deliver compliant outcomes.
Project and program support Assist in strategic planning, manage workflows, and contribute to project delivery and team capability building.
Stakeholder engagement Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on complex issues to achieve Defence outcomes.
Policy guidance Offer policy advice on complex matters and ensure alignment with legislation and government decision-making.
People and financial accountability Lead teams as required, coach staff, manage workloads, and be accountable for people and financial outcomes.
Continuous improvement Identify risks, apply sound judgement, and contribute to administrative process improvements.
Change management Support the Maritime Sustainment transition and adapt to evolving priorities.

About You (Eligibility)

  • Strong administrative experience in fast-paced, complex environments.
  • Ability to interpret policy, apply procedures and provide expert advisory support.
  • Experience in strategic planning, program management or project coordination; capable of leading teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; professional and collaborative approach.
  • Sound judgement, initiative and problem-solving capability; comfortable navigating change.
  • Security clearance ability to obtain and maintain Negative Vetting Level 1.
  • Technical proficiency in common office software; ability to learn governance and policy systems quickly.
