The Royal Australian Mint is a small government agency working within the Commonwealth
Government Portfolio of the Treasury. The Mint is a non-corporate Commonwealth Entity and is

The Mint offers some of the most unique career opportunities within the public service, including

Coin making – polishing, laser frosting, 3D engraving, Physical Vapour Deposition hard
coating, chrome plating, dies inspection and collars manufacture.
Machinery – operate and maintain minting critical machines.
Coin Sculpting – design coins, medals, medallions, and token, etc.
Graphic Design – design coin packaging materials, exhibition graphics, etc.
Engineering – technical support and manufacturing operations.
Duties

- Supervising a small team, providing performance feedback and identifying learning and
- development opportunities for staff
- Oversee inventory management activities, including the receipt, storage, fulfilment,
- destruction and disposal of circulating coin, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring
- compliance with relevant standards.
- In collaboration with the Logistics Manager coordinate logistics operations, including
- circulating coin orders, vendor and freight contract management, cost centre administration,
- and inventory security.
- Manage inventory systems by using and training staff in ERP systems, monitoring stock
- levels, analysing data, producing reports, and undertaking quality assurance activities.
- Coordinate team priorities, work plans and operational objectives, adapting to changing
- business requirements while providing guidance to maximise storage efficiency and resource
- utilisation.
- Prepare reports for senior management on inventory, storage, inward goods, withdrawn coin,
- serialised assets and operational requests to support informed decision-making.
- Conduct risk assessments, review work instructions, and coordinate mid-year and
- end-of-financial-year stocktakes to improve processes, maintain inventory accuracy, and
- ensure compliance with organisational standards.
Eligibility / Notes
- Security
- This position requires a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance. The successful applicant will be
- required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
- Qualifications
- Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems would be an advantage.
- Qualifications in a related trade, manufacturing, engineering, project management, or any other
- relevant qualification are viewed as desirable.
