SPACECOMD is a multidisciplinary workforce across Navy, Army, Air Force, Australian Public
Service, and Industry. SPACECOMD has been established to prepare space power to secure
Australia’s interests in peace and war. Its vision is to assure Australian civil and military access in
space, integrated across Government, and in concert with allies, international partners and
industry.
The day-to-day operations of 74 SQN are sensitive, but know that you will be supporting a team
dedicated to working on the delivery of bespoke Space Control effects. Space control, seeks to
detect and deter attempts to interfere with, or attack, our use of the space domain. The 2020
Force Structure Plan called for the development of options to enhance ADF space control through
capabilities to counter emerging space threats to Australia’s free use of the space domain.
Space Electronic Warfare is a capability that does not create debris or damage the space
environment. Defence supports efforts to promote international norms, transparency and
cooperation in upholding responsible behaviour in space.

Duties
- The Role
- Space Command are seeking a professional APS 5 Logistics Assurance Officer to be a part of
- 74SQN our team. 74SQN is a Space Control Unit of Space Command. You will be working within
- a fast paced and dynamic working environment supporting the complex capabilities 74SQN
- delivers to Defence.
- As a logistics officer in 74SQN, you will be accountable to perform and achieve complex logistics
- compliance and assurance work maintaining a well-developed understanding of and compliance to
- relevant legislative frameworks, government decision making and Defence’s mission and policy
- requirements.
- The APS 5 Logistics Assurance Officer will be accountable for organising their workflow and
- making independent decisions relating to their responsibility. They will undertake technical
- research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessment and perform procedural, and administrative
- support work to achieve results.
- You will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and
- provide advice on issues to achieve unit and Defence outcomes.
