Duties (What You Will Do)

The Role Lead complex ICT operations and service management within Defence policy and security frameworks. Apply judgement, technical expertise and risk understanding to ensure services are stable and compliant.
Advisory Support Provide detailed technical, operational and policy advice to support strategic cyber planning, capability uplift, threat response and continuous improvement of Defence’s cyber posture.
Leadership Lead and develop team capability, manage priorities and workflows, coach staff, and oversee people, performance and financial responsibilities to strengthen operational effectiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders to understand operational needs and address complex cyber issues, contributing to readiness and professional development.
Team and Capability Uplift Contribute to capability uplift through mentoring, feedback and supporting ongoing professional development.

About You (Eligibility)

  • Experience delivering ICT operations and service management within government or large enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL or similar service governance frameworks; ability to interpret policy and apply governance practices.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement, analytical, and communication skills; ability to influence and coordinate across teams.
  • Ability to coach, mentor and lead small teams; comfortable working in a high-tempo, security-focused setting.
  • Security clearance capability to obtain and maintain Negative Vetting Level 1.
  • Technical familiarity with network and ICT services; experience with risk assessment and incident coordination is desirable.
