As an Analyst (Data, Policy, Projects) – Affirmative Measures (Disability) you’ll work with data, policy and project work to help shape how Australia funds health and aged care services. Day-to-day you’ll analyse datasets, contribute to pricing models, draft technical papers and communicate complex information in clear, practical ways. You may specialise in data analysis, policy development, clinical classifications, project management or corporate services depending on the assignment.

About the organisation: IHACPA plays a pivotal role in ensuring fair, transparent and evidence-based pricing for health and aged care services. The Authority supports hospitals, aged care facilities and communities across Australia by delivering robust data and sound policy to inform pricing decisions.

About the role: You’ll join a collaborative, supportive team that values accuracy, curiosity and practical communication. Your work will contribute to policy development, data analysis, and the preparation of technical papers and advisory materials that influence real-world funding decisions. Duties (What You Will Do)

Area Key Tasks
Data Analysis / Data Management Analyse data from public and private hospitals, aged care facilities and other government bodies; design statistical models; support data acquisition, analysis, monitoring, loading and reporting processes.
Policy Development Contribute to development of policies, procedures and frameworks to support health and aged care pricing; draft technical papers for IHACPA’s governing board and advisory committees.
Pricing & Costing Provide input to costing and pricing models for health and aged care services; support development of care classifications through quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Stakeholder Engagement Work with internal and external stakeholders to design communication plans; explain model results to external parties; provide secretariat support to committees and working groups.
Project & Corporate Services Support project management, governance, reporting and corporate services including communications and Secretariat functions.

About You (Eligibility)

  • Australian citizenship is required at the time of offer.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Be able to participate in a two-week assessment phase.
  • Evidence of a neurodivergent condition supported by appropriate professional documentation is required to participate in the Affirmative Measures (Disability) process.
  • Suitable candidates will undergo pre-employment checks (criminal history, medical declarations where required, Working with Children/Vulnerable People checks where applicable).
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills; ability to interpret clinical information and explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement, teamwork and sound judgement under pressure.
